Description: This is an adorable mid century Zoo-Line carved wooden hippo figurine, which doubles as a little jewelry or keepsake box. The hippo is constructed of a heavy grained, hard wood, most likely oak and is fully intact, with her little curving tail. She features adorable little ears with tiny pearl earrings, long-lashed eyes on a hinged wooden piece, and a large hollow in her red painted mouth for your most valuable little treasures. 

Condition: Great

Details: The wood has some minor cosmetic marks, including a few small tiny nicks on the ears and a darkened area inside the mouth, but is complete and without damage. The wood has been cleaned and conditioned and is marked on the bottom "Copyright 1959 Zoo-Line." 

In the 1950s, Zoo-Line was a company based in Los Angeles, which distributed Japanese made wooden animal figures and souvenirs, predominately at parks and zoos.
